How To Prevent Programs From Changing The Default Search Engine In IE 9

We have already covered how to set Google as the default search engine in Internet Explorer 9 browser. As we all know, many free applications available today for Windows 7 try to change the default search provider of web browser during installation.

With Internet Explorer 9, you can prevent programs from suggesting changes to your default search provider. You just need to enable this option to prevent programs from changing your default search engine.

1. Kick start Internet Explorer 9 browser.

2. Click Tools icon and then select Manage add-ons option.

3. In the left pane, click Search Providers option.

4. Now, check the box named Prevent programs from suggesting changes to my default search provider and click Close button.

5. You are done!
